One thing I have realized about snow days.... YOU JUST GOT TO LET IT GO!
Some of you may not be aware of the fact that I can be some what uptight about my house! I am not necessarily the cleanest house, although it stays clean enough, but I am a freak about it staying straight! So when snow days hit like this week, my freak out mode can go hard into effect! Mainly all the wet stuff that just gets left everywhere, coats, glove (notice I didn't say gloves, that's because they last about a day as a pair), socks, hats! The porch, omg!!!! We look like hillbillies after a day of snow! Charlie aka "charwee" decides to pull half of our snow accessories out into the yard! We have sleds and boots everywhere! With kids running everywhere... which is the part I do love! With all this being said I took a new approach to these last few days. I decided if I can't beat them, join them!
No pun intended!
There is nothing like some fried up grill cheese and hot cocoa after a day of sledding!
We played in the snow! It was great! The golf course across the street lends itself to some great hills!
So after a good few days lounging, sipping cocoa, and having friends over to sled. We have started to get antsy! Do you want to know the cure for antsy... Put them to work! ha! They loved it! We do a gift swap between our own family and it was a great time to earn a few extra dollars! I pay big for this job...
This is not such a great picture (low lighting), but I had to capture it! They completely prepped my Christmas cards in one hour and loved every second of it! Now they aren't perfect, but these two were quiet and my cards are finished! They were also really proud!
So you ask what I did with the "DESTROYER" (Isaac and I nicknamed her that after the day with the sharpie) that incident could go down in history, anyways.....
She sat in front of the t.v for 45 minutes!!!! The shame! Oh not really!!!! It was peaceful and it allowed Emma and I some one on one baking time for dinner! Biscuits! Yummy!Emma's little hands represent so much here. To me it means involvement, imperfection, mess, love, enjoyment, time spent, importance... and last but not least DINNER!
Enjoy!
