The vacation Bubba dragged me to! Glad I didn't miss out on this!

A couple of weeks back Bubba started getting the itch for the beach. My response a couple years ago would of been " WOO HOO, LET'S GO!" But over the past year packing four suitcases, traveling bags, toothbrushes, food, drinks, diapers, wipes, ect... has started to wear me down. So as you can imagine I was not really too excited about taking a short trip to the beach, on a tight budget, with a ONE year old! NO OFFENSE IZZY! Let me also say we planned to stay in a one bedroom hotel room, YIKES!!! (FYI- PEOPLE WITH FOUR KIDS REALLY NEED TWO SEPERATE ROOMS TO STAY SANE!!!!) Even with all this in mind Bubba cohersed me into going. I know this sounds awful that I wasn't excited about going, but anyone with kids knows that going to the beach is more work than play!!!! YOU HAVE TO BE MENTALLY PREPARED AND I WASN'T!!!To his credit, Bubba said he would plan and prepare our whole trip, even our meals!!!! At that point I couldn't refuse!!!!
So to start the trip Bubba made us all a picnic lunch for the trip down! It was so relaxing and we had a blast at a little park right outside of Birmingham. Our destination was Pensacola Beach and the kids asked every hour when we would be there. Thank goodness it was only a six hour trip (HOW DID WE EVER SURVIVE VIRGINIA!) Okay, so Bubba had saved up points at the Holiday Inn and we planned to stay for just three days! When we got down there we were quickly surprised with a upgrade to the PENTHOUSE SUITE for free (thank you basketball season!!!!!!) Bubba was so proud of himself, and I was thrilled not to be staying in a full size bed with two kids!!! It seemed like the trip just got better and better! It was truly the perfect set up for us with the ocean view, the walk in entry heated pool, the hot tub in the bathroom, free breakfast and an AAAAmazing view from the top! We did a lot of fun things with the kids and really tried to make it a special time for them. First thing we did was get our little fishing nets! The kids love to try to catch the little fish and we caught a lot. We even tried to keep a few! If you know Emma, you know that she loves to mother EVERYTHING!!!! The moment we caught her fish she sat by her bucket at the beach the whole day playing with them! If you are wondering how you play with a fish well... Emma would pick them up for minutes at a time and hold them. I think right before they would take their last breath she would dip them in the water again! That soon was not enough affection for the fish, so she began to KISS THEM!!! I tried to keep her from it, but I just couldn't catch her all the time (kinda similar to the whole Izzy situation.) I finally gave in and took a picture of it. It was Emma being Emma and it was kinda sweet and nasty all in one! Oh how she loved her fish though!
We also got to go on a huge slide provided by our hotel! They told us that Mary B. sat the record for the most times down a slide in two hours. SHOCKING! HER SET A RECORD???? IT WAS AMAZING!!! I don't know where she gets her energy? She went down that slide and would run probably 60 yards in the sand to do it all over again, non-stop for two hours till we left! We played some mini golf and had ice cream! Isaac and Daddy rented some poles and fish off the peer one night. He loved it! Isaac is now addicted to fishing and tries to fish everyday here at Sewanee! Izzy and I got some quality TLC while the kids played at the beach in the afternoon. I read and napped while IZZY also caught up on her ZZZ's!!!

It might of been one of the best vacations we ever had! We didn't spend a lot of money, we just spent a lot of great time together! The kids loved it! Up till this point the kids favorite trip has always been "TURTLE" Beach, which is actually Myrtle they just can't remember! That was their ulitmate vacation! I think Daddy worked his magic again and planned another Ultimate trip, now all they talked about is "The Holidays" at Pensacola Beach! That is what they call the Holiday Inn! Thank you Bubba for making me go!!!! You proved me wrong once again!
