The tale of two cities... A Thanksgiving to remember!

Thanksgiving this year was anything but normal. For the first time ever our sweet little family was in separate cities for our big turkey day! Bubba headed to Memphis with the team for a weekend tournament, while the girls and I stayed at mom and dad's to have Thanksgiving dinner. We gave Isaac the option of getting on the big bus with Daddy for a weekend "boys" retreat or staying with me and the girls. Which do you think was more appealing to this kid! Have I told you before that he LOVES HIM SOME DADDY TIME!!!! As sad as it was to be apart for Thanksgiving life does go on, and we ended the weekend a little fatter, a little more broke, and two WINS stronger! GO TIGERS!

Tiffany and Walt were in for the break and I could not tear the girls away from their new Uncle!!! It was almost funny how well they took to him, we all love Walt!!! He seems to fit in our family like he has always been there!!! Watching Tiff and Walt together (little lovebirds) made me miss Bubba way too much!

We looked at quite a few ads during the day, and I quietly prepared myself for a all-nighter!!! Who can resist BLACK Friday! I will tell you more later....
Mom and Dad were the perfect host and hostess! It was some good eatin' and we are all fatter for it! I made a pineapple casserole, after finding out that many people didn't take to pineapple too much! Well, Walt seemed to like it, and I think Lindsey did too!
Charlie begged to be a part of Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to give him a few leftover helpings after we realized he wasn't going to get off the door! Sorry about all the barking Mom and Dad!

Lindz, had her fun with all the kiddies! We love Aunt Lin- Lin! Izzy has also learned exactly what a camera is used for... Everytime I put it in front of her she smiles real big and says CHEZZZZZZZZEEEEE!!!!

ME AND MY SISTERS!!!!
We loved getting to see our cousins! Look at all the smiles! What fun! What a loud house!

Hungry anyone?

This is Izzy's serious look! She was professionally dressed by her "so" big sister... EMMA!
After a great Thanksgiving Day I decided I would dive into BLACK FRIDAY starting at midnight at ToysRus! Mom, Lindz, and I stood in line to get whatever it was that was on sale that night!?!?! I really don't think I left there saving much money but it was sure fun! We got home at 1 that morning and I proceeded to go right back out to Target that same night by myself. I know it sounds crazy but Target had one item that I knew one of my children really wanted I had to make sure we got it. So after my long wait at ToysRus I decided I would be one of the first ones in line for this Target item. This meant I would stand in line from 1:30 to 5 in the freezing cold just to get it!!! Crazy right? So I got to Target and was the 9th person in line... I WAS COLD and starting to doubt my capabilities of a all-nighter. Low and behold I get a call from my daddy at 2 in the morning asking where I am and telling me that he is at another Target and NO ONE WAS THERE!!!! HE NOT ONLY CAME TO MY RESCUE (which was no surprise), but he put me in the front of the LINE! I was so happy to have his help and conversation for the next 3 hours! Sure enough I scurried over to that Target with some Waffle House coffee in hand to thank my precious daddy! He stayed with me all night, and that line grew and grew and grew! I was so proud (and a bit anxious) to be the first one in that line! Dad had chairs and warm blankets to snuggle up in!!!! OH, WHAT A GREAT DAD! It's funny how I would stay out in the freezing cold all night just to get this one gift for my sweet kids and the very reason I am that way is because of the man sitting by my side waiting anxiously to help me get the gift!!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY, what a memory!
My girls missed their daddy tons! Emma kept saying "I want to go home and see Daddy!" I kept trying to explain that he wasn't there. She didn't get it! We still had a good weekend though. We were able to view a couple of TIGER "stat" nail biters on the internet and thanks to Nana's texting at the end, heard that we won each game! The girls jumped up and down each time. I think Isaac really enjoyed being with Daddy and the girls were able to get some great quality time with Aunts and Grandparents!
So this was our Thanksgiving! Separated by miles and cities, but together in heart and "LIVE STATS!!!!" When finally reunited it was so sweet to watch the girls run into their daddy's arms like it had been years!!!! I understood how they felt and was so thankful for a husband who loves his kids that much! Reminds me of how much My God loves me, no matter my past, present, or future He loves me! I could never have earned it... Now that's a gift to be thankful for!
