A few Christmas traditions!

Since Bubba and I have been married we have made the first Sunday after Thanksgiving our day to get the Christmas Tree and decor up around the house! Bubba had been in Memphis all weekend and I in Nashville, so we scurried home on Sunday just to have our big family tradition!!! Do I have a great hubby or what??? It was his only day off for the whole week and instead of resting or taking it easy, he was pulling stuff out of the attic for some very anxious kids! We all enjoyed the day so much! The kids love, love, love this part of our Christmas! Traditionally we go and eat Chinese food, pick up ingredients for Rice Krispies and then the tree! This year we did things a little different and for the first time we HAD PIZZA HUT (which was chosen by most votes) and instead of Rice Krispie treats we had chocolate chip cookies! It was a great time and I loved every minute of it!

The kids kept telling me that "THEIR" ornaments weren't out! I felt like we had everything and then I realized that their homemade ornaments were missing! Sure enough I sent Bubba back up to the attic in search of our lost treasures! TRULY! Somehow our little memory box of ornaments had been buried up in the attic since we had moved. It was so fun to pull out all the stuff they had made since preschool! They love to look back on that kind of stuff!

We love to string different things on the tree! Last year we did gumdrops and marshmallows as well as popcorn! That was a complete mess! Pretty for a little while, but too tempting for some of my children *cough* Mary B* cough! SO THIS YEAR WE JUST DID POPCORN!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE... PLEASE!!! Isaac was quite good at this task, very focused as usual!

Our final tradition is to let one child light the Christmas Tree! This year we all agreed it would be IZZY! She had no doubt that her daddy would hold her steady! Although she didn't actually light the tree... she thought she did and that was the purpose! The kids all jumped up and down.

We have Chipmunks Christmas album playing continuously in the car right now. We have listened to it non-stop, so for that very reason I didn't put it on here!!! Instead I gave you a little NSYNC Christmas, which the kids love, love, love also! I know it's a little cheesy being NSYNC and all, but come on people they can sing some Christmas!!!!

Hope your family traditions find you just as happy, warm, and merry!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Such sweet traditions! I had to do a little more arm twisting over here to get our decorations up. But "Scrooge" aka Billy, had fun once we were actually decorating. haha. :) Your photos are so sweet, too. The kids are so cute!
