Easter 2010

Here are some sweet shots of our Easter! We made it home from the Final Four just in time to greet our kids at the annual home group Easter Egg Hunt given by Carolyn and Thomas Graves.
The kids love this party it's filled with sweets, a life size Easter bunny, and plenty of goodies! Did I mention more time with their cousins, who they love!

Toward the end of the night I was tucking the kids in bed and Isaac expressed to me that he would like an ipod touch from the Easter Bunny!!!! What??????? First of all how does he know what an ipod touch is, secondly he certainly still believes in the Easter Bunny because he knows mommy and daddy would not get him that! HA! I gently explained to him that the Easter Bunny typically brings small things like candy and little gifts. He seemed to understand and was still excited about the next morning.

We spent the night a Nana and Pappaw's after a terrific night out to church and dinner at Demos' afterward! Don't you love Mary B.'s pose for this picture? Between Nana and I we probably took 15 pictures and she posed like this in everyone!!! Ahh!!! What can you do but laugh?

Sunday we woke up and were all greatly surprised and thrilled by the Easter Bunny and his baskets for us! Which was good because I was a little worried that this Easter the "bunny" might let us down especially after talking with Isaac the night before.

Later that day we went out to Mimi's and Papa's for lunch and another Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were pumped and thrilled to be apart of all these family events. The best part of all is you could ask anyone of our kids, minus Izzy, what the real meaning of Easter is and they would tell you that "Jesus died on a cross for our sins and rose again three days later!" I am not bragging, I just am so proud that they understand that! I really do feel like the older two are starting to get it. It's so exciting to watch how Jesus is molding their hearts and moving them to love others. Just the other day Emma fell off the swing and Mary B. went running to her and gave her the biggest kiss on her face and said "are you alright?" As a parent it was so precious to see the tenderness between all my kids. Even Isaac and Mary B. are showing signs of love for each other! It probably happens more than I know it, but in that moment I sensed that they really are seeing how much our God loves us, He let his Son die for us! What a great gift! My prayer is that my kids see how special that gift is. That the decisions they make won't be because I say so, but because they love someone so much bigger than all of us, their Creator!!!! Don't you just feel blessed, I know I do! Thank you Jesus, all though it hurts to be sanctified it brings me closer to you and the outcome is so much greater than the pain. Thank you for paying the ultimate price and for all your suffering! The comfort I have from that single action is the one thing that will never perish!
