This blog is about two of the most precious teachers in the world! Since we are celebrating Teacher appreciation this week at SES, I thought it would only be right to give a honorable blog to the teachers who have made my kiddos so happy!

When we first moved to the mountain I was so worried about the kids. All they have ever known was our little town in Virginia! After all every single one of my kids were born there!
While still in Virginia I can remember coming home from the hospital and laying on the bed with little Izzy, I was in tears! The thought of trying to sell our home, pack a house, and worry about the adjustment of my kids, was more than I could handle at the moment.
I think I just knew how much they loved their schools, our street, and especially the backyard where all the neighborhood kids would come and play. In my mind, which was dealing with postpardum issues, I thought it can't get any better than we have it now? I worried about how the kids would do having to start a new school with all new friends and teachers! Whew... at that point I was a mess!
First thing that we decided to do was get in a car and travel down to Tennessee so the kids could see where their new home would be. I will never forget taking them over to the school playground and having them pose for a picture by the SES sign. They seemed so excited for the fall after the formal tour. I was glad they were adjusting to the idea, but the thought of all this actually coming into play with a new home, new school, and teachers was still a lot to handle on my end.

Since that day God has blessed us over and over with the most wonderful and amazing teachers and people!!! We have been so blessed to have Isaac and Mary B. be apart of SES!!!! I can't say enough about their teachers and the heart they have for my children.

Since first grade has started for Mary B. I think she comes home everyday with a new tune from Mrs. Rebecca class or a new trinket from the "prize box!" She has been given such a creative way to learn and to actually enjoy it! She has loved the affection and encouragement Mrs. R constantly lavishes on her!!!!! Wow, as a mom don't you just pray that someone else will love your kid as much as you do?!

Rebecca- YOU ARE SO GIFTED!!! YOU ARE SUCH A BLESSING!!!! We adore and admire the way you love and teach our children. I couldn't ask for more than you do, and I know you do a lot! As I told you the other day, I was lying in bed with Mary B. and she was talking about being the "Lucky Duck" that day, my heart just sank knowing her time with you as a first grade "Lucky Duck" would soon be up! Wow, it just goes by too fast! Thank you so much not only for loving my kids, but for always carrying a smile on your face, EVEN IF IT'S BEEN A ROUGH DAY!!! God has given you a tremendous gift, thank you for sharing it with us! You are so highly thought of in the Smith house and we all truly adore your ability to make a child feel so special!
Second grade, for Isaac, has been one of his best years yet! The fun and excitement that he has had over this year with Mrs. Kim will be one he will never forget. I can remember Sophie Wofford telling Isaac, "You are going to love Mrs. Kim, she lets you make paper airplanes after your spelling test!" From that moment on he has been in complete heaven. It also helps that she was willing to get out there and shoot some hoops with him!
Kim- I know you know how much we love and admire you! You have poured so much time and attention into our son. I have so much respect for you and your ability to teach Isaac! I know at times he has tried your patience with those long bathroom breaks or stacks of papers he has not yet completed!!! Ha! His mind is always on recess, which I think we came to find out can help him move more quickly! I think a lot of those things he probably won't remember, nor will I! I do know however, that he will remember your sweet smile, the way you played with him, and how far those airplanes could fly! We are so thankful for you and the way you care for Isaac, you are such a blessing to us! Thank you for giving us your best, we love you!
As you can see I went through the classrooms and took some shots of their rooms. I had planned to take a big group picture of each class, but thought some parents might not appreciate that on my personal blog! When I went around the room and started snapping shots it really hit me as to how hard these teachers have to work.
They not only give our children one on one attention, they plan their weeks, they put up bulletin boards, they grade papers, they help teach multiple subjects, they organize parties, and if they are really good they grabbed kids hearts!!!! WOW!!!!
Did I mention teachers also have a family of their own???? After having four children I don't know how in the world they manage it all. Talk about an incredible multi-tasker! So I just want to say thank you, I know we are all struggling to get through May. It will come and go so quickly, but the love you have shown my kiddos will never be replaced!
They love you so much and so do WE!
Thanks for far exceeding our expectations!
